The Master of Landscape Architecture degree is STEM-designated at University of Michigan, recognized as such because of its focus on ecological design, and to its location within an innovative and action-oriented school where sustainability underlays all that we do. Located within the interdisciplinary School for Environment and Sustainability, the MLA program provides the ideal setting and opportunities for you to become one of the next change-driven leaders in landscape architecture. This year was a truly fulfilling experience and we are looking forward to future quality advocacy events.The University of MichiganвЂ™s Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) program is one of the nationвЂ™s first and is among the very few programs in the world that employ ecological principles authentically in environmentally responsible design. All interactions were positive with a genuine appreciation expressed for our profession.

Many pro-active discussions occurred with representatives concerning public health, safety & welfare qualifications of the practitioner and small business & economics. A graph of 288 citations received by 13 academic papers made by 3 universities in Missouri was used to calculate publications' ratings, which then were adjusted for release dates and added to final scores. Licensure acquisition and retention are possible due to the vigilance of the Design Alliance providing professional feedback to the licensure board MALA monitoring legislative actions that could affect licensure and practice and the ASLA membership supporting MALA with advocacy and financial support. Louis ASLA and Prairie Gateway ASLA meet in Jefferson City for Advocacy Day to educate legislators about the landscape architecture profession and create personal relationships between our profession and their communities. Licensure is the essential element that allows Missouri landscape architects to practice nationwide and enjoy an equal opportunity to compete in the design profession.
